Mixergy’s Innovate UK DATATANK project came to a close in January earlier this year. The project was a feasibility study investigating how households can maximise from the value in new smart energy technology. We have developed a smart hot water tank which integrates with distributed computing devices to heat the water in the tank by the waste heat from the computing cores. This allows the user free energy whilst mining cryptocurrencies or providing other distributed computing services.
